627.4232 Health insurance out-of-hospital benefits.No health insurance policy which provides coverage on a medical, hospital, or surgical expense-incurred basis shall be delivered or issued for delivery in this state unless coverage is provided for treatment performed outside a hospital for any accident or illness as defined in the policy, provided that such treatment would be covered on an inpatient basis and is provided by a health care provider whose services would be covered under the policy if the treatment were performed in a hospital and provided that treatment of the accident or illness is medically necessary and is provided as an alternative to inpatient treatment in a hospital. Reimbursement may be limited to amounts that are reasonable for the treatment or services provided and may be limited by any deductible and coinsurance provisions of the policy. 6, 10, ch. 84-235; s. 114, ch. 92-318.
