Statutes & Constitution

*Florida Statutes—a permanent collection of state laws organized by subject area into a code made up of titles, chapters, parts, and sections. The Florida Statutes are updated annually by laws that create, amend, transfer, or repeal statutory material.

Legislative changes to the Florida Statutes effective up to and including January 1, 2025, are treated as current for publication of the 2024 Florida Statutes. This means that some material in the 2024 edition may not take effect up to or until January 1, 2025. Amendments effective on January 2, 2025, or later, will appear as footnotes.

To research effective dates of legislation affecting statutory provisions, consult the laws listed in the "History" provision that follows each statutes section. For the previous version, please consult the 2023 Florida Statutes at this site.
