1290.009  Enterprise Zone Interagency Coordinating Council.--

(1)  There is created within the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development the Enterprise Zone Interagency Coordinating Council. The council shall be composed of the secretaries or executive directors, or their designees, of the Department of Community Affairs, the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development, the Department of Children and Family Services, the Department of Health, the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Department of Labor and Employment Security, the Department of State, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Law Enforcement, and the Department of Revenue; the Attorney General or his or her designee; and the executive directors or their designees of the Florida Community College System, the Florida Black Business Investment Board, and the Florida State Rural Development Council.

(2)  The purpose of the council is to:

(a)  Advise the office in planning, developing, implementing, and performing evaluation and reporting activities related to the Florida Enterprise Zone Act of 1994.

(b)  Assist in the evaluation and review of enterprise zone designation applications pursuant to s. 290.0065.

(c)  Assist in the selection of designated enterprise zones for participation in the enterprise zone linked deposit program pursuant to s. 290.0075.

(d)  Encourage state agencies to administer programs in a manner that supports the purposes of this act and the goals and objectives of strategic enterprise zone development plans prepared by local governments.

(3)  The director of the office or his or her designee shall serve as the chair of the council.
