382.004  Reproduction and destruction of records.--

(1)  The department is authorized to photograph, microphotograph, reproduce on film, or reproduce by electronic means vital records in such a manner that the data on each page are in exact conformity with the original record.

(2)  The department is authorized to destroy any of the original vital records after they have been photographed or reproduced in exact conformity with the original record and after approval for destruction in accordance with chapter 257.

(3)  Photographs, microphotographs, or reproductions of any record in the form of film, prints, or electronically produced certifications made in compliance with the provisions of this chapter and certified by the department shall have the same force and effect as the originals thereof, shall be treated as originals for the purpose of their admissibility and shall be prima facie evidence of the facts stated therein.
