Florida’s Auditor General

The Joint Legislative Auditing Committee of the Florida Legislature is seeking candidates for the position of Auditor General. The successful candidate will be appointed by a majority vote of the Committee, subject to confirmation by both houses of the Legislature. The person appointed to the position must have been certified under the Public Accountancy Law in Florida for a period of at least ten years and must have at least ten years’ experience in an accounting or auditing related field. The Auditor General is responsible for a budget in excess of $35 million and a staff of approximately 350. The position is based in Tallahassee and the appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2015.
