General Summary
The Florida Legislature’s Office of Legislative Information Technology Services (OLITS) is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator who is eager to use and grow his or her technological skills. In this role, the successful individual will protect our critical information, systems and assets, build solutions, implement new software and hardware, provide training, and assist in the development of an overall IT strategy. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about applying their skills to a technology-based business model that creates real-world solutions for the Legislature.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Architect, implement, and support multiple Microsoft-based infrastructure service technologies such as MS Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, Active Directory, IIS, File and Print.

Install, Configure, Deploy, Manage and Maintain VMware virtualization infrastructure servers and associated software across an enterprise environment.

Install, configure, maintain F5 load balancing appliances.

Install, Configure, Deploy, Manage and Maintain HPE Blade Chassis and associated hardware and HPE ProLiant servers.

Install, configure and manage operation of current Microsoft Windows Server systems.

Manage and maintain HPE SAN and Hyper-converged based storage infrastructures.
-
Manage Data Protection and Recovery services utilizing CommVault and Azure.
-
Utilize monitoring and management systems for ensuring proactive server and system management.
-
Provide On-call after hour support to assist with troubleshooting, escalation, or recovery of failing systems or equipment.

Stay abreast of new and evolving technologies and make recommendations for productivity and operational improvements.

Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to problem solve issues related to server, networking, printers, applications, virtualization, security and directory services.

Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to analyze system data to assist in performance management, pro-active problem management and capacity planning.

Ability to produce quality work under pressure.

Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple concurrent work assignments.

Ability to read and understand technical information systems publications.

Ability to assimilate information, develop plans and recommend processes and procedures for server and storage administration.

Ability to work after hours and weekends for maintenance and upgrades when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, business administration, education, communications, graphic arts, mathematics, statistics, geography, or engineering and three years of progressively responsible information systems experience.
Progressively responsible information systems experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
Any combination of progressively responsible information systems or server administration experience and post-secondary training in disciplines as described above totaling seven years.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated proficiencies in the following areas:

3 years of demonstrated proficiency in Windows 2008/2012/2016 system administration or MCSE/MCITP certification.

Experience with Active Directory, IIS, SharePoint, and Microsoft web presentation technologies.

Experience with supporting Dot-Net web development, ASP, SharePoint, scripting.

Experience with PowerShell scripting, automation and orchestration technologies.
-
Experience with MS System Center products.
-
Experience with HP based rack-based and blade-servers and HP storage hardware a plus.
-
Solid technical understanding of information technology redundancy and failover best practices such as hardware load balancing, clustering, Application Delivery Controllers.

Ability to assimilate information, develop plans and recommend processes and procedures.

Skilled in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
