Section 570.071, Florida Statutes 2000

570.071  Florida Agricultural Exposition; responsibility of Departments of Agriculture and Consumer Services and Corrections.--

(1)  The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the Department of Corrections are authorized to construct and equip an agricultural exposition center in the vicinity of Belle Glade in Palm Beach County to be known as "Florida Agricultural Exposition," to be administered by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services as a place to demonstrate and sell Florida agricultural and agriculture business products; to attract and inform buyers; to conduct agricultural short courses and conferences; to organize tours in the aid of marketing Florida agricultural products to the domestic, Latin American, and other foreign markets; and to train prisoners of the correctional institutions of the state in agricultural labor and management.

(2)  To accomplish the purpose of this section, the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and Department of Corrections are authorized to receive donations of funds from growers and dealers of agricultural products and their groups and associations, manufacturers and dealers of agriculture business products and their groups and associations thereof, the Federal Government, and other sources. The funds shall be deposited in the State Treasury in a separate trust.

(3)  Further, to accomplish the purpose of this section, the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is authorized to expend up to $25,000 from the funds of the department, if available.
